On Thursday 29th January 2026, the CE1 class from OMBROSA Savoie made some traditional English cakes with Mrs Smith, the Headteacher’s mum.
The Bakewell Tarts consisted of a pastry base and a frangipane top with a layer of cherry jam in between, and for decoration a Mr Kipling cherry on top. This tart is a traditional British dessert originating in the town of Bakewell in Derbyshire, North of England.
The children made 4 cakes each to share with their family.
It was a great opportunity for bringing to life this tradition, for tasting and sharing. They had a really fun day.
A big ‘thank you’ to Mrs Smith and her liveliness ! Everyone hopes this event will keep on next year !
